Genesis has a reputation for fostering a love of learning through its inclusive culture and its innovative and collaborative approach to teaching and learning. The school motto, Purposeful commitment to quality education, challenges us to believe in ourselves and develop grit; to be adaptable and courageous; to connect with others with respect, and to have a sense of fun and adventure. At Genesis, children are encouraged to lead their learning, reflect on their personal goals, and the know-how they best learn. Opportunities to follow their passions and know their strengths help children to value their sense of self and grow confidence. Our teachers are focused on knowing each child and personalizing learning. The idea that it takes a village to raise a child is well established at Genesis and our strong sense of community helps children to know there are many adults invested in them.
Academics at genesis Combined School covers four divisions, namely Prescolaire [Early Learning], Primary, Secondary, and School for Specific Purpose (High Needs). Early Learning caters to students aged 2 to 5 in basic-one to Transition. The Primary school welcomes students aged 6-12 in Year-one through Year-6, and the Secondary section includes students between Year-7 to 8 who are 12-14 years old.
Our approach to education is different from other mainstream schools. The education system in Pakistan is more focused on meeting standards and targets rather than meeting the needs of the students. We appreciate that given the number of kids in the mainstream system there are limits to how much individual learning can happen.
At Genesis Combined School, there are no limits. We made our classroom small with the best student-teacher ratio 1:12, we took the curriculum apart, identified the key concepts and foundational skills, and designed multi-disciplinary modules that give our learning coaches the flexibility to design individual learning programs based on students’ passions and interests.
Schools are facing increasing challenges in providing for the learning needs of their students. We aim to prepare all our students for the future by nurturing their strengths and interests through rich learning tasks in a safe environment and give all our students knowledge and skills, set out in the World’s Best Curriculum, in the Seven Essential Learning Areas listed below.
